Does an electric fireplace give off heat?
Yes. Most of our models include a 1500W heater, about 5,100 BTU, which adds supplemental heat to a living room, bedroom or home office. You can also run the flame effect on its own with the heat off.
How much does it cost to run an electric fireplace?
A 1500W heater uses 1.5 kWh per hour on high. At average US electricity rates that is roughly 20 to 30 cents per hour, and far less when you run the flame effect without heat.
Freestanding, TV stand or wall-mounted?
Freestanding fireplace stoves move from room to room. A fireplace TV stand adds storage and a focal point under your TV. Wall-mounted and recessed models give a sleek built-in look.
Do I need an electrician?
No. Freestanding units and fireplace TV stands plug into a standard 120V household outlet. For best performance, plug directly into the wall rather than an extension cord.
